The day of the dead for me is the most interesting holiday for me. We choose to celebrate this more than any other day. Remembering those we loved most who are already with God and spending all that day with them in the cemetery is always been fun with my mom. Every Halloween mom do certain make ups. Me as a kid I always love every look she does every year. This year she chose to do a sugar skull make-up.

What is SUGAR SKULL?
I asked my mom why did she chose to have a sugar skull make up to scare the kids at the cemetery.
Well, she said this is originated from Mexico where they believe that on October 31 the gates of heaven would opened to have those little to be united with their loved ones and by November 2 the spirits of the adults will have their time to feast on the living's fiesta buffet had prepared.
sugar skull was first known in the 17th century where the Mexican were said can not afford to buy imported sweets but have that huge production of local sugar in town. And so the friars taught the people how to do this laborious intensively made skull molded from clay and everyone made this kind of sweets personalized as my mom did on her face :)
So this is her transformation...

I laughed all the way while she does this makeup. :) |
|
She tried this is a glamorous hair style. (Yes I find this glamorous! She's so cute!) |
|
Then she tried this with her bojo look... |
|
And with that just plain hair... |
Same sugar skull inspired make up with different hairstyle really made a huge difference in looks...
|
This is where my Lola Salud rest in peace. |
|
And her fun thing started here... |

With Keier around

Mom: Kasi madami akong utang... Baka kc singilin nila ako dito pag nakita nila ako.... :) |

This is how we are missing Lola Salud alot... |
|
This kid was so brave! He said my mom mom is very beautiful. He standby the whole afternoon with my mom even he was actually there for his departed aunt. |
