I Dislike Drugs - A Narrative Report

The widespread  illegal drug usage and abuse reached the students' curious minds and so,  Camp Crame High School's Parents - Teachers Association, together with the Philippine National Police came up with the Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign,  "I DISLIKE DRUGS" last August 3, 2016 at Camp Crame High School covered court.

As early as 6 am, everything was prepared. The sound and technical system were properly set up . The stage and the whole covered court were neatly cleaned. The chairs were arranged in such unified alignment. The students of the morning session were asked to take their recess earlier than the usual for the program has been said to start by 9am. The well behaved morning session students took their sits after they had their recess. The advisers, subject teachers and few parents with the lead of our PTA president, PSupt Ebra M Moxsir,  accompanied the students as they waited for the program to start.

The program started as soon as the honorable speakers, SPO4 Fernando Tecson Galang, D.A.R.E. Mentor International of Anti-Illegal Drug Group, came. He was with SPO3 Hercules B. Basmayor of the Community Affairs Division, PNP AIDG - ANTI ILLEGAL DRUGS GROUP, who took pictures for their anti illegal drugs campaign dissemination. They were followed by PO2 Nomer B. Macaraig of ICDD PNCO PRCG, who talked about Crime Prevention Tips and Safety

The morning master of ceremony, Mrs. Allyn Mendez, welcomed everyone. The program started with the Philippine National Anthem followed by a doxology lead by Mr. Christopher Frades of MAPEH Department. Then a wonderful welcome remarks was given by Romelita Tumaneng, Head Teacher of  TLE Department. The program would be completely started without some inspiring message from our beloved Adora B. Teano, OIC- Principal. The message was full of love for each and every student of Camp Crame High School through this campaign. Our PTA President also gave a short message not only for the students but also for the parents and teachers.

SPO4 Fernando Tecson Galang introduced himself. He said that he is very concern with the students of Camp Crame High School that he wants everyone to have a "DRUG FREE TEEN LIFE" .He talked about the different kinds of issues, need to know facts and misinformation about illegal drug usage and drug abuse. He made it a point the things like drugs and not only drugs but other things are not to blame but society who are misusing and abusing them. No one can be a victim without allowing them to do so. And so, as he repeated said, the students should say "I DISLIKE DRUGS". In addition to his lecture, addiction is a chronic relapsing brain disease in anything. It is not only applicable to illegal drugs but also to everything one can misuse and abuse like internet, and food. One must be aware of the drugs and illegal drugs and so he gave all the list of  commonly abused drugs and descriptions; horrible physical, mental and intellectual effects; the faces of drug abuse; the terrible withdrawal symptoms; the kinds and descriptions of pharmacological classification of drugs; the republic acts and punishments of illegal drug marketing and abuse. SPO4 Galang closed his morning session talk with making everyone remember to dislike drugs.

An intermission song number, "May Bukas Pa" was given by Marky Impuerto. He was featured in Jessica Soho's show in GMA 7. He was followed by PO1 Magalang, the official mascot of Anti Illegal Drugs Campaign. PO1 gave us a great dance number. The two intermission numbers showed the students that through dancing and singing and through watching such wonderful presentations like this one can release dopamine which is said to be the happy hormone. One doesn't need to use drugs to be happy.

The next speaker, PO2 Nomer B. Macaraig gave a good pep talk about Crime Prevention Tips. He talked about the different kinds of crimes and one of them is BULLYING, which is a very alarming and worrisome not only for the students but for everyone else. Educating the students that bullying is a crime, gave everyone an idea that no one should be a victim. One can refuse violence. One can call incase of any crime for Hoping Everyone Likes Pancakes (HELP) through 09178475757. Everyone is entitled for  a safe and peaceful society.

The afternoon students were gathered at the covered court by 12:30pm. With the master of ceremony, Julie Anne Vital, everyone was welcomed warmly. With the same love Mr.s Romelita Tumaneng gave a welcome remarks and a short gesture of concern through message from Mrs. Adora Teano.

The afternoon session also had their  special dose of eye opening education about anti-illegal drug campaign and crime prevention and safety tips with the same speakers. This time PO2 Nomer B. Macaraig of crime prevention and safety tips came first before SPO4 Fernando Tecson Galang of  anti-illegal drugs campaign. The speaker were given certificates of appreciation.   The closing remarks of the program by PSupt Ebra M. Moxsir was made awesome through the answer and question portion with some little tokens for each right answer.

All in all, the Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign, "I DISLIKE DRUGS" was a huge success. It made everyone think deep and had fun at the same time. Everyone is looking forward for such great changes and huge impact of preventing drugs and crime, which started after one big day of education.

These supportive parents joined our campaign because this is how much they love their children. They also wanted to be educated on how they can prevent everyone in the family to be victims of illegal drug usages and abuses and crimes too. The safety of the future leaders of our country starts within the family... within the school... within the well educated minds, who will put this into action.

These boys were made to promise that they will dislike drugs forever.

SPO4 Fernando Tecson Galang as one of the finest speakers of Anti-Illegal Drugs  Campaign gave us more than the students needed to know - THE FUTURE LEADERS OF OUR COUNTRY WILL BE COMING FROM

The question of "What can you do as a student to prevent crime? PO2 Macaraig made it a point the they can do something to prevent crime like bullying.
The Penalty for this kind of crime is very huge to the extend that the students would not  want to be part of it.
A student was taking down notes for his own reminders of disliking drugs and crime...
And the Official Mascot of Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign, PO1. MAGALANG, gave her best moves in hip hop dancing. Dancing and singing are just two of the things you can do to be happy. Other than these, we have sports like basketball and volleyball and more...

The amount of happiness of appreciating people who would always be there to help us is priceless.
